I got my parts here, lucky i am working for research so i could get a hand on one of that ericsson modems for 'research' enabling CONFIG_WAN and the specific driver in the kernel is enough for ubuntu but i am now looking for software to interface with the sim, sending SMS making calls i did NOT get t running under android so far, i am missing the 'sim' functions/settings in the controlmenu! Maybe mdrjr or odroid can help with some info how to enable the SIM functions on android You need to implement the RIL functions, some manufactures likes Ericsson did provided all the sources to you do such. If you check on our BSP you'll see the mbm folder that is all the RIL implementation. But how to port the funtionality of the O-Q version to work on my O-X? I really have no clue if it is even possible to 'copy' or 'port' the stuff PS i'll have a look into that BSP tomorrow, i have a awefull lot of projects running at the moment i was literally hoping it would work on my O-X the moment i plug it in and for ubuntu, you are right, but i am missing some application to write SMS or make phone calls, if not built in, can you maybe recommend some you may have tested for yourself? I'll try to get into the API when i finish my GPIO stuff.

I'll try to get into the API when i finish my GPIO stuff Just check the ODROID-Q or Q2 folder on the BSP there's alot of references to 'MBM' or 'RIL' grep those and it will be fine For writing SMS on Ubuntu I've found Wammu and its very good!! However never could make it do phone calls not sure if the hardware on Q2 is capable of. Never bother to figure it.
